• Water quality monitoring: physical, virtual and hybrid sensors including emerging contaminants, microbiological quality, DBP etc, AI- and machine learning

• Performance optimisation: Process control, Integrating Big Data with SCADA systems in water utilities, AI-and machine learning driven process control and performance forecasting, Digital Twins

• Asset management: IoTs and Big data analytics for proactive asset management, AI- and machine learning for predictive maintenance in water systems

• Risk management: ICA in managing natural and man-made process disruptions: early warning, decision support, cyber security, etc.
